8800 is a new sliding phone from Nokia. It has the dimensions of 107x45x16.5 mm and it weights 134 grams. The device has an interesting external design. The body is made of stainless steel, with the flat surfaces brushed, and the rounded surfaces polished. The surface of the phone is easily soiled and fingerprints stick to it. The glass on the phone is made out of sapphire, which is very solid and doesn't get scratched.

KEYBOARD

Nokia 8800 The sliding mechanism of the phone is very smooth, and it snaps into place making a click sound. It reveals a keyboard with plastic and small keys. The keys are black and silver, andand they have white backgroung lighting. There is also a four way navigation key with an OK button in the middle. The phone doesn't have a volume button on the side - the regulation of the volume is done using the navigation key.

SCREEN, CAMERA

8800 has a 1.7 inch diagonal, TFT screen, that has the resolution of 208x208 pixels and it shows 262 thousand colors. The display is bright, the picture is smooth and the screen behaves excellently on sunlight.

The camera is located on the back side of the slider and it has the SVGA resolution of 0.5 megapixels. It doesn't have a mirror for self portraiting or a flash. The pictures can be taken in two sizes, it has a zoom, night mode and self timer.

The quality of the photos taken is average in daylight and very bad at night. The only thing that in some way improves the quality of the pictures is an excellent screen. This kind of an advanced mobile phone should really have a better camera. It can also record videos.
