The Samsung X830 is a highly fashionable mini music phone which comes with a swing opening mechanism.

X830 is a small phone, it weights 75g and it has dimensions of  84x30x19 mm. When it's closed it can be mistaken for a MP3 player.

After opening it, which is done with a half circular movement of the upper part of the phone to the side, you realise that it is a phone too.

It comes in a choice of colours which include the subtle colours of black coloured casing or pure white coloured casing.

The keys are located in two rows, and they require getting used to it. It has also a very good multifunctional key.

The smaller screen, letters and numbers on it, and icons in the menu are all consequences of a narrow design of this phone.

The phone has an excellent multimedia side. X830 has a Windows Digital Rights Management system which enables transfering the bought music to the phone.

All of the songs can be browsed by their name, artist, album or genre.

The MP3 player functions are available when the phone is closed, using the scroll key.

It is possible to listen to the music in two ways.

Using the speakers on the phone and using the earphones that come with the phone.

The other option is using the Bluetooth Stereo Headset which is a more expensive option.

It has a 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom, photo effects and settings. It is also possible to record and reproduce videos.

The phone has 1GB of memory which means that a lot of high quality songs can be stored on the phone (about 200 songs), and it also supports a lot of song formats.

The aplications in the Organiser are standard: alarm clock, converter, calculator, phonebook, to do list, shortcut, notes and others.

The phone connects using Bluetooth, EDGE, USB and GPRS and it works in tri band network.

X830 has a Li-lon battery of 700 mAh of capacity which is about three hours of talk time and 120 hours in standby.
