This is a new Nokia mobile phone with a number of good things on it. It also has a compact and curvy design.

Nokia 6290

It is a massive mobile phone, with 115g of weight and dimensions of 94x50x21mm. It has a quality made box that comes in black and blue colors.

The phone works on Symbian v9.2 system, Series 60 platform with added FP1. 6290 has a number of keys that are available while the phone is closed.

It has two volume keys and three keys for calls and multimedia functions. It has a small external screen with 128x160 pixel resolution, and the screen itself is TFT and it shows 262 thousand colors.

The three keys on the outside are quite enough for doing some simple actions, and for accessing music files, there is the key in the middle of the lid, and the right key is reserved for starting the radio application.

While reproducing or listening to the  radio, the user has full control over the content,so he doesn't have to open the phone to see which song is playing. The volume keys can also be used for moving through menus or list of songs.

Besides multimedia, the external screen supports viewing of missed calls and reading messages. While the phone is opened, the external screen is still running and it shows black and white picture of analog clock or date.

Nokia 6290 The interface is similar to the interfaces on the phones that have S60 but there are a few essential differences.

The menu system is reorganised.

The new menus have better configuration and they will make usage of them easier, but they have some unlogical sequences, which can be reorganised by users.

6290 combines very succesfully, two cameras, stereo reproduction of sound, 3G, UMTS support and design that is  ergonomically correct.

It has an external camera with a flashlight. That isn't the only camera on the phone, and they aren't equal.

The external camera has 2 megapixels (1600x1200 pixels), and the internal is somewhat weaker, it doesn't have  lighting and its maximal resolution is 320x420.

It is quite clear that the internal  camera is there just to enable videocalling.The pictures taken are quite good considering that they are taken from a phone.

The box has protections for slots from dust and dirt. Every slot on this phone is well protected with solid plastic lids. Besides the mechanic protection, the lids have its estetic function and thanks to them, the box looks compact and the keys that are located on the edges are barely visible.

This phone has a charger slot, a slot for earphones, USB and microSD slots.
