Nokia E65 review
2008-01-31 14:21:48
It is a slim, sliding mobile phone with great design. The phone has the dimensions of 105 x 49 x 15.5 mm and it weights 115g.
The front side of the box has 15+12 keys. 15 keys are located under the
screen and although it may seem that they are too closely located, the
size and convexity of these keys are excellent.
There is a key which
can be used as a shortcut for different functions, and next to it there
are three more keys for microphone, phonebook and conference call.
The
rest of the keys that are located in the other part of the phone have
also great quality and they are very big. Ringing volume can be
adjusted by using the # key.
The editing key is located on the right
side of the phone, under the voice recording key, and by holding it,
the voice managing of the phone is being activated.
On the back it has a battery lid cover that looks like leather. The
whole phone is made out of excellent materials. Slide mechanism is high
classed with minimal danglings. It also has a camera on the back.
The screen is QVGA with 240x320 pixel resolution. Above the screen
there is a light sensor that regulates keyboard illumination which is
useful for battery preservation.
The interface is from S60, third edition, built on Symbian operative system 9.1 E65 offers advanced possibilities regarding the e-mail.
It also supports RIM BlackBerry connect 2.1 version. The connectivity is enabled through 1.2 bluetooth, infrared, Pop-Port connection through Dual Transfer mode. It also has EDGE and GPRS.
Quick Office package enables word, excel and powerpoint documents browsing, and it also has Adobe PDF and zip manager support. E65 is a quad band phone, meaning that it works on five continents.
It also enables working in UMTS networks, and it supoports VoIP calls
through installed WLAN standards IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b. The phone enables video and audio streaming (it has 3GPP and Real Media
support), and the music player supports MP3 and AAC formats. It has 50MB of memory and a slot for microSD card that doesn't come
with the phone. The slot is located underneath the battery lid, but the
device doesn't have to be turned off to insert or take out the card. The camera is 2 megapixel, and beside photos with resolution of
1600x1200 pixels it enables recording of videos in CIF
resolution(352x288 pixels). E65 is a very good mobile phone that will attract a lot of users. It has a great design, applications and connectivity.
