N82 is  a mobile phone with the dimensions of  112x50x17.3 mm and weight of 114g. It is compact, firm, and feels good in hands.

The device has an excellent design, it has rounded corners and looks very smooth. The box of the phone is made out of firm plastic.

It comes in two color versions, black and silver, and personally, the black one looks better.

The front side is dominated by a large 2.4 inch TFT, QVGA screen that shows 16 million of colors and has the resolution of 240x320 pixels.

The screen is a bit smaller than the earlier N series mobile phones, but also maybe even a better one. Everything looks very sharp and clear, and it behaves very well in direct sunlight.

Underneath the screen, there is a keyboard, with all the standard keys, a navigation key in the top middle, and five keys arround it.

The keys are very easy to use, there is enough space between them, and they are lifted from the surface quite enough. They also have a good background illumination.

On the back side, N82 has a 5 megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss lens, a Xenon flashlight, auto focus, and video recording ability. It makes excellent photos in all conditions and in the combination with the screen, they look fantastic.

The sides of the phone contain slots for micro USB, microSD cards, charging, speakers, camera keys, volume keys, a 3.5mm jack for earphones.

N82 works on a S60 (Symbian)3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 platform, which makes the phone work very fast. The applications can be installed on the phone at a high speed, and the process of opening them is also very fast.

It has WCDMA2100 (HSDPA), EGSM900, GSM850/1800/1900 MHz (EGPRS) operating frequency. It uses USBand Bluetooth 2.0 for connecting to other devices.

The Organiser is packed with useful functions, it has Java support which enables playing games on this mobile phone.

It is possible to access the Internet through this device, and it also has a very good e-mail client.

The sound quality of the phone is very good, whether you're listening to the music using speakers or earphones, or you're talking to someone.  The reception is excellent, and the sound during calls is sharp and clear.


The internal memory of the device is about 100 MB which can be used for storing pictures, music, videos or games, and the phone comes with an additional 2 GB of memory microSD memory card.

N82 has a very good battery that lasts for a quite long time. According to the manufacturers, it is a BP-6MT with 1050mAh of capacity, and it can last up to 4.5 hours of talk time, or 225 hours in standby. 

A trully excellent mobile phone with a number of excellent things on it.
